Ryan Terry was born in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, NC, and then later moved to the small steel mill town of Steubenville, Ohio. It was while living there that Ryan realized his passion for sports. He participated in wrestling, baseball, basketball and track but became completely enamored with football. Upon graduating from Steubenville’s “BIG RED” High School, Ryan went on to play football at Tennessee State University. After a successful freshman year Ryan decided to transfer to the University of Iowa where after one semester, he was awarded a scholarship and voted co-captain of the 1994 football team. Ryan’s football career didn’t end there, he went on to have a successful NFL & CFL career playing for the Arizona Cardinals, Edmonton Eskimos, Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes.
After retiring from football, Ryan began searching for a career in which he could help people and make a difference in the world. He decided to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales, and although he had an outstandingly successful career in pharmaceuticals he realized that this was not fulfilling enough for his people oriented nature. This led him down the path of fitness/health and wellness where he began to coach and train athletes in his spare time.
Ryan being well aware of the importance of stretching and flexibility was soon introduced to something that would change his life; Assisted Stretch Therapy. This opened a whole new world and was his first of many certifications centered on stretching, flexibility and performance. However, it wasn’t enough! Ryan’s dream was to develop a system that would help people feel and perform better while at the same time, making sure that the therapist did not get overworked. After much trial and error, he developed his own system, Functional Assisted Stretch Therapy. In April 2016, along with business partner, Steve Eckerman, REACH STRETCH STUDIOS was born!
